How-To’s Day: Photoshop: Focal Point

Dec 28, 2004, 10:00 PM ET

This is not an effect how-to. This tutorial from N-Sane more fundamental and far more important than how to evilize photos or create reflections in glossy surfaces. Understanding how to create and emphasize a focal point is a Fundamental skill for any visual communicator, whether it be a Photoshopper, a photographer, a graphic designer, or anyone else working in the broad realm of visual communication.

In N-Sane’s own words:

There are many things that make up a piece of art. However in order to make a piece of art into a masterpiece, there are several components that it must have. One of these components is a focal point.
Definition Focus: “a. a center of activity, attraction, or attention b: a point of concentration”
