Whitening a model’s teeth is one of the most common touchup tasks for Photoshop. It’s done thousands of times a day in photo studios and ad agencies across the land.

Since the home-whitening craze began in the Nineties, every consumer knows that whiter teeth are a sign of health, which plays a factor in subconscious decisions regarding attraction. Professional psychologists, photographers, and graphic designers have known for decades that the shade of a model’s teeth play an important role in whether the viewer finds the model attractive. For commercial creatives, that translates to: how likely the viewer is to accept the message of the ad and spend his or her money.
Whitening teeth is one of the half-dozen touchups that are mandatory to almost all model photographs intended for commerical use. We’ll cover them all at a later time.
For now, this quick how-to from Kninja will have you whitening teeth like a pro in seconds.
